Introducing Sophie; our Social Media Coordinator
A little bit about me – I work full time in a college Pastoral Team supporting young people aged 16-23 who are learning English as a second language. My role is very busy and varied and I really enjoy it – every day is different.
Many of the young people that I support on a day to day basis are Children Looked After or Care Leavers, and this is part of my reason for wanting to work with Skylark as I see day to day the needs of young people and feel that Skylark’s ethos truly makes a difference.
My role at Skylark Fostering is to manage our Facebook page with the aim of spreading the word about Fostering, recruiting potential applicants, and building connections with the community.
Why did I want to work with Skylark? My mum, Trish Kelly, is one of the founders of Skylark Fostering. I have seen first hand the time, energy and dedication that herself and Tim Clayton have put into establishing Skylark Fostering. Both of them have a remarkable level of passion and commitment and I wanted to join a team that truly were making a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people. It is inspiring working with them both and I am able to develop new skills in my role.
